Computational Thinking (CT)-coding education can play a key role in helping students build their problem-solving skills while nurturing them to be creators rather than just consumers of technology.

Creating a culture of self-directed learners takes careful preparation, explicit instruction, and implicit support throughout all content areas. We will explore the steps necessary to create this culture, the tools needed to continue the practice during the literacy block, and methods for students and teachers to monitor progress towards self-directed learning behaviors.

Harnessing the power of Bitmojis to promote creativity and engage learners in and out of the languages classroom

In order to “teach for social justice” one must first be able to read for social justice. This session will push participants to reimagine the idea of reading as an act of resistance, hope, and transformation.

This session is not only for coaches but for all educators who want to bring technology integration into their classes in an innovative and meaningful way.

This keynote will be followed by a panel discussion: Spotlight on Linguistic Equity in International Schools where Ceci will lead a panel of teachers of MLLs and leaders of international schools to tackle some of the big questions around linguistic equity practices in their communities.

An EAL teacher and a Grade 1 teacher will guide you through how we use UFLI, an explicit and systematic approach to teaching foundational literacy skills, to support the development of every reader in our classroom.
