As an early career researcher and practitioner, I would like to share my findings of a Hong Kong-based published study with educators on the impact of COVID-19 on children with special educational needs and how the pandemic posed challenges for vulnerable learners and also some of the benefits for a minority of children with technology-based learning.

I want to share some parts of my PhD research, such as listening to children's voices throughout the day, documenting children's learning in different types of documentation, and reflecting on daily documentation with children to support their critical thinking skills.

This presentation will use the research on leadership in Confucian societies, as well as broader research on ethical leadership to consider models for leadership when working alongside staff in an East Asian Cultural Context.

Participants will learn about effective but easy ways to choose words to teach, introduce those words to students, and reinforce those words, to ensure students retain their meaning and can use this new vocabulary appropriately across a variety of contexts.
