This workshop explores how genre-based pedagogy and functional linguistics (Rose & Martin, 2012; Gebhard, 2018) combine effectively in enhancing primary and secondary school literacy development. First there will be an overview of the linguistic and pedagogical principles of the genre-based approach, and then practical examples of how literacy performance of K-12 students can be enhanced using this approach.
This presentation will share frameworks and research you can utilise to support shifting the educational purpose of your school to best meet the needs of learners.
Drawing on 16 years of diverse education experience, combined with 5 years of research, Andrea will discuss our current wellbeing paradox, share her wellbeing theory Eudaimonic Education® and suggest we can no longer talk about wellbeing separate to sustainability.
Attendees will receive instruction in a research-based method of question construction. Then they will take that knowledge and apply it using Google and ChatGPT to take the question to the next level of depth.
This session is not only for coaches but for all educators who want to bring technology integration into their classes in an innovative and meaningful way.
