In this active workshop participants will work with messy, real-world datasets and learn shortcuts that their students can take to tidy them up for easy visualization and deep insights.

The Open School is the only self-directed democratic K-12 school in Southern California. Modeled closely after Sudbury Valley School, The Open School began operating in 2015 with just a handful of students. The school is committed to supporting the human rights of children, centering on the right to autonomy. Children at the school decide how to spend their time, as long as they are not infringing on the rights of others.

In this presentation, I will share a curation of resources which will empower you to launch or enhance a Digital Citizenship program at your school.

In this presentation, you will see how we can set up ideas for the classroom, re-imagine ALL media resources including the ones originally made for much older audiences and make it accessible to the lower age ranges, you can see how it can argue on your behalf and turn the arguments into societal or historical reasoning, create plans, assessments, rubrics, translate into any language (very accurately) and for any age range and finally, as a professional educator, you will see how we can combine other web tools and platforms to not only make our curriculum resources easier to produces by saving us hours or time, but it can assess us as teachers.

This presentation shows how students connect and extend their wonderings to outside the classroom to aquire and flexibly use complex knowledge.
