In this presentation, I'll talk about the decision-making and lesson planning in a hybrid model during a pandemic.

Student engagement is the new frontier of student achievement. Of course, it’s always been possible to achieve without being really engaged. Grit, resilience and sheer perseverance can get the most driven students through their courses and exams, and can be useful for some students, some of the time. But these days, in a world rife with distractions, it’s hard to get students to succeed unless you can also get and keep their attention, fire up their passions, and connect with their lives and interests.

Geography crosses many disciplines. In this session, you’ll explore Google Geo tools for lessons, activities, and student content creation. We’ll explore Google Earth Projects, Google My Maps, Google ExpeditionsPro, Google Arts & Culture, and 360° imagery with Google Story Spheres. These tools give students enriched learning experiences that opens minds, teaches perspective, and sparks curiosity. As the global pandemic settles, students can use these tools to give voice to the lessons learned through engaging teacher-driven lessons and student content creation that fosters a better understanding of our world.

In this presentation, I will introduce and demonstrate other alternatives such as Microsoft Office 365, Apple Education Application, Book Creator, EdPuzzle, and SeeSaw to facilitate Chinese learning and teaching in a distance learning environment.
