The linguistic equity strand aims to explore linguistic diversity in the classroom and the need to provide an equitable access to learning experiences for all students. This strand will explore how schools can support multilingual learners and how to ensure that their linguistic identities and cultural backgrounds are valued within our curricula.  Additionally, this strand will examine ways to dismantle language-based barriers to educational access and opportunities, and how to create more inclusive learning environments that promote linguistic and cultural diversity. Topics covered may include culturally responsive teaching practices, language policies, bilingual education, and supporting emergent bilinguals.
