"A live session where we will explore the benefits of a Making program in school. Beacon Hill School began their successful Making program in 2017.
This workshop will explore a process using systems and design thinking fused and an appreciative inquiry approach to create conditions for school communities to thrive. This includes strategies to map the larger system in which you are trying to effect change; build generative and collaborative conversations; and move from reactive problem solving to co-creating the future.
The presentation focuses on describing an experience of co-teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic and long periods of online distance learning. It highlights student success in the area of literacy achieved despite the difficulties of social isolation and emphasizes how teachers' teamwork made a difference in the students' social-emotional well-being and academic progress.
According to research, feedback is one of the most effective ways for students to improve and develop their learning skills.
