We are Renaissance College Hong Kong's Research Institute, the first of our kind in the Asia-Pacific Region. We are in the middle of conducting a self-directed research project on how streamed academic classes impact student engagement.

Professional development that builds dynamic learning communities is the need of the hour. Based on our experience with building and sustaining communities of practice, we will be taking our participants through how they can build a bespoke professional development program for their institutions.

Teaching isn't what we were taught, so how can we support parental understanding of current Early Years pedagogy? Using visuals/infographics to explain the importance of learning through play and inquiry, the value of outdoor learning, the benefits of a multiage classroom approach and other topics to build a bridge between home and school. Rethinking parent workshops to engage adults in our learning communities through 'Connect Cafes' as opportunities to build parental understanding.

The presentation will focus on the importance of female leadership and the unique perspectives that can be brought to the table by women in leadership roles.
