This session will focus on the principals of Tidy Data which are quickly becoming the industry standard for science and industry. In this active workshop participants will work with messy, real-world datasets and learn shortcuts that their students can take to tidy them up for easy visualization and deep insights.

The Open School is the only self-directed democratic K-12 school in Southern California. Modeled closely after Sudbury Valley School, The Open School began operating in 2015 with just a handful of students. The school is committed to supporting the human rights of children, centering on the right to autonomy. Children at the school decide how to spend their time, as long as they are not infringing on the rights of others.

In this presentation, I will share a curation of resources which will empower you to launch or enhance a Digital Citizenship program at your school.

The great outdoors provides endless opportunities for student growth and discovery, including improving academic performance, fostering personal and social development as well as the improvement of physical and mental health and wellbeing.

In this presentation, teachers will develop their understanding of a small set of scaffolding strategies.

While most of us prefer to learn in person, this workshop will highlight the many affordances of going remote. From breaking free of scheduling constraints and giving students more agency over their learning, to creating a sense of psychological safety with learners from different parts of the world, we will highlight what we have learned over the last three years by moving the Innovation Academy from the classrooms at the American School in Lima, Peru to Zoom with schools around the world.

This presentation helps all educators and aspiring leaders harness their leadership and performance potential by strengthening the relationship they have with themselves.

In the Studio approach, teachers pick a question about their students and then adjust a colleague's lesson plan to test out new teaching ideas.
