In this keynote presentation, he will explore the concept of "masking", as it applies to various student characteristics, identities and experiences. He will make the point that our students wear these masks thickly and well, and that we must find creative ways to look and see beneath, if we are to enjoy genuine connection.
Attendees will learn about the five pillars of lifestyle changes needed for a health-focused approach (as opposed to the disease-focused approach of modern medicine) to overall well-being.
Participants will have an opportunity to use this learning to reflect on their own practice and consider what changes they might make to better support multiracial students.
Through a collaborative approach with fellow members of the learning community, attendees will learn how to set achievable goals for students and work collectively towards their attainment.
Participants will use OctoStudio as the primary tool to gain hands-on experience with age-appropriate coding activities aligned with curriculum objectives, providing real-world examples of student engagement and learning.
The session promises to be both interesting and inspiring!
