In this presentation, I will outline the measures taken by ABA Oman International School to revisit our student council structure and operations, in order to increase student ownership, agency and voice and the positive effects this has, almost instantly, had on our post-pandemic climate. I will share how students have been coached in essential life-long skills of conversation, collaboration, creative thinking and project management in order to address their chosen issues.

In this talk Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah will walk us through how she has come to understand social justice from a local, individualised struggle to a global solidarity movement.

Providing training for educators who want to pass the Level 1 Google Teacher exam

Student engagement is the new frontier of student achievement. Of course, it’s always been possible to achieve without being really engaged. Grit, resilience and sheer perseverance can get the most driven students through their courses and exams, and can be useful for some students, some of the time. But these days, in a world rife with distractions, it’s hard to get students to succeed unless you can also get and keep their attention, fire up their passions, and connect with their lives and interests.

This presentation will look at the history, purpose, and alternatives to traditional grades in education, and the role grades play in 21st century learning.

When students start asking more questions than the teacher, and tapping into their own curiosity about the topic in hand, you know you’re on the path to deep, complex learning.

The presentation will focus on the importance of female leadership and the unique perspectives that can be brought to the table by women in leadership roles.
