Learning spaces are more than physical environments. They are ecosystems where space and programme work together to nurture 21st Century Competencies. This session explores how intentional design of both space and experience develops critical, adaptive, and inventive thinking, alongside effective communication and collaboration.
Using our Makerspace, Broadcasting Room and Life Skills Hub as case studies, we will share the guiding principles behind their spatial layout, activity design and facilitation strategies, highlighting how these intersect to promote 21CC, student agency and authentic learning.
Participants will gain insights into how purposeful space fosters exploration and collaboration, how programme structures embed interdisciplinary and real-world connections, and how facilitation practices create safe environments where students can explore, take risks and build collective understanding. The session invites educators to reimagine learning spaces as deliberate, strategic tools for cultivating agency, passion and future-ready competencies in every learner.
