The Harbour School

Based in Hong Kong, The Harbour School (THS) is a primary and secondary international school that recognizes children as complex individuals with differing needs, goals, personalities, and backgrounds and thus takes a customized approach to learning.
Founded in 2007, THS has gained a worldwide reputation as a center of educational excellence emphasizing skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, innovation and resilience. We recently placed second worldwide in a global competition for “21st Century School of the Year”.

Harbour School – Innovation Journey

From its 50-foot sailboat and marine science program to its social action rock videos, two-story treehouse, and student-designed interactive lounge, The Harbour School Hong Kong is full of fun and innovative ideas.  But the difficult thing is not to have a good idea – or even many good ideas.  The difficult thing is to create a culture of innovation in which new ideas are welcomed and celebrated and in which students, teachers and parents feel that their ideas will be valued and quite probably implemented.  In a world in which the tendency is to fear rejection or judgement, the creation, support and maintenance of a culture of innovation requires a purposeful, proactive and collaborative approach.
