Simon Walker
Originally from Scotland, Simon is in his eighteenth year of international school leadership. Following five years at the British School in Tokyo, he returned to Europe as Middle School Principal at the Bavarian International School in Germany. From August 2012 and until taking up the role as High School Principal at ABA Oman International School, Simon served as the Headteacher of the Berlin British School.
Simon has experience of the Scottish, English and International Baccalaureate education frameworks and has achieved the National Professional Qualification in Headship. Simon is qualified to teach History and Modern Studies. He has participated in a number of school visits for the Council of International Schools and the International Baccalaureate.
He has facilitated a number of seminars at ECIS and IB conferences, including workshops for the IB academic team. For four consecutive years, Simon led learning groups at Future of Learning Institute, held annually at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
He lives in Muscat with his wife Jelena and son Ben.
