Julia Getty has worked in education for over 20 years. She has trained, coached, and consulted for K-12 and college-level educators as an instructor with the International Institute for Restorative Practices Graduate School (IIRP) since 2019. She earned her master’s degree from the IIRP in 2012 and is the co-editor of the 2026 foundational text Restorative Practices in Education: Research and Applications.

Julia enjoys exploring how restorative practices theories and methods contribute to individual and community health by empowering us to share thoughts, feelings, and experiences that gradually enhance mutual empathy and understanding, while challenging and modifying preconceived notions we hold of each other and ourselves. Julia is the founder of Relational Mind and Practice, LLC where she supports educators in their intrapersonal development.
