Primary Math, Subject Lead, Inventure Academy

Driven by a passion for making Math enjoyable, I transitioned from a decade-long career in finance in the UK to education. My prior experience instilled in me the value of analytical thinking and problem-solving – which I now bring into my role as an educator. Over the past 15 years, I have built a fulfilling career as an educator, earning a Bachelor’s in Education. I have continually upskilled on concepts such as education entrepreneurship, innovation, and mathematical mindsets, through certifications from the Universities of Pennsylvania and Stanford. Over the past decade at Inventure Academy, I have grown from a subject teacher to leading the Math department, comprising 20 teachers. Using design thinking, I have mentored teachers and helped them to create engaging learning experiences for students in Primary school. I have encouraged them to incorporate different pedagogical strategies and actively challenge gender bias and have focused on eliminating math anxiety in students. I strongly believe that with the right mindset and guidance, every student can succeed in Math and that every teacher can support students in their learning.
