Caro Somare

Health & Counselling Lead, Canadian International School of Guangzhou

Caro was born in Argentina and later moved to Bolivia during her Senior School years, where she created beautiful memories that she cherishes from both countries. With 18 years of experience in education and 12 years as a counsellor, she has dedicated her career to supporting students and fostering their growth. Caro graduated with a degree in Psychology in Bolivia, which fueled her curiosity for mental health.

Continuing her education, she earned an International School Counselling Certificate in London, followed by a certification as a Mindfulness Trainer in Mexico. Additionally, she became a Life Coach in Uruguay, enhancing her skills in personal development and empowerment. An accomplished author, Caro has written 14 books in Spanish, sharing her insights and experiences with a wider audience. One of her recent books on the topic of bullying was translated to English and soon to be published in Mandarin.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she adapted to the changing landscape by becoming a virtual presenter at ISCA 2020, demonstrating her commitment to supporting others during challenging times.

Currently, Caro resides in China, where she serves as the Health & Counselling Lead at the Canadian International School of Guangzhou, blending her extensive and deep passion for helping students thrive emotionally and academically.
