In an era where student well-being is often narrowly defined by programs and curricula, it is crucial to recognize the broader systems at play within our schools. This keynote, “Towards Cultivating Regenerative Systems of Wellbeing in Schools,” draws on insights from well-being science, systems science, regenerative farming, and even the lessons from sheep. Jessica, The Wellbeing Farmer, combines her roles as an educator, researcher, wellbeing specialist, and regenerative farmer to illustrate how cultivating compassionate and regenerative systems of well-being can transform school environments. By prioritizing interconnectivity and holism, we can foster conditions where every layer of the educational system thrives—students, educators, and communities alike.
Jessica’s experience as a former executive leader and Director of Wellbeing informs her understanding of systemic dynamics in our educational systems and schools, while her time on the farm deepens her appreciation for nature’s regenerative practices. Through engaging storytelling and unique insights, she encourages educators to envision a holistic approach to well-being that integrates policies, practices, and places. Drawing parallels between regenerative farming and educational environments, this keynote underscores the importance of adaptive capacity and collaborative learning in nurturing systems that support flourishing lives. Join us in reimagining well-being in our schools, cultivating spaces where everyone can thrive.
