To Tech or To Teach: Balancing Technology with Teaching for Enhanced Learning

February 2025 - 21CLHK

In today’s golden age of educational technology, we have tools for almost every conceivable purpose—from content delivery and student assessment to interactive learning experiences. But this proliferation comes with a risk: the potential to let technology dictate our pedagogy. When we adopt tech for tech’s sake, we risk turning learning into a passive experience rather than an active, engaging one. This presentation will allow participants to gain the skills to critically assess technology tools to ensure they align with educational standards and curriculum goals, for educators to learn about the fundamental role technology plays in enhancing learning experiences, rather than replacing traditional teaching methods, and for teachers to learn how to identify and select technology tools that complement and enhance their teaching methods and learning outcomes.
