Leveraging Clubhouse and Twitterspaces for PL

November 2021

In April 2021 a group of educators, using the social media app, Clubhouse, got together and decided to try to run a global conference on the audio only app within 7 weeks. What happened was a movement of educators across the globe coming together. With an open call for submissions, the Educ8 movement resulted in a 3 day global conference, in multiple languages, with 170 sessions across 6 continents and around 500 panellists. The power of community and inclusion sparked a flame and since then there have been 4 education conferences on Clubhouse: The SDGs, Arts and Equity, STEAM Ed, Language and Culture. Shortly after, the first Twitter Spaces education conference was launched with names such as Tony Wagner and Sal Khan. Lottie led/coled these events and explores the different ways educators are using Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces for PL.
