Student Voice
February 2025 - 21CLHK

This workshop proposal focuses on developing critical thinking skills for student success in the 21st century. It emphasizes equipping students with strong critical thinking abilities to navigate our rapidly changing world.

The workshop will explore a discussion-based, inquiry-driven approach method and principles of classical education. Participants will learn practical strategies to:

1. Facilitate engaging, student-led discussions that challenge learners to question assumptions, analyze multiple perspectives, and draw their conclusions.
2. Incorporate primary source materials, spider-web discussions, Harkness, and other discussion-based activities to cultivate students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

The goal is to provide teachers with concrete techniques to reinvigorate their teaching and foster the critical thinking competencies necessary for student success in the 21st-century classroom.
