Maker Learning is a Mindset Not a Space: 5 Maker Mindsets to Thrive in Hybrid Environments

November 2021

When learning went remote/hybrid over the last 2 years, many school Makerspaces sat vacant, accumulating dust. ‘Making’ with fancy laser cutters, 3d printers, and expensive routers would have to wait until students returned to school. But that doesn’t mean the ‘making’ should stop!
In this engaging and interactive presentation, you will learn how to continue maker learning regardless of the medium. Through inspiring case studies, and co-creation in a hybrid environment, we will unlock the 5 major mindsets of maker learning, and learn how to apply them to F2F, remote and hybrid settings.
Major objectives:
– Learn and adopt the 5 mindsets for maker learning
– Identify case studies of maker learning online and how to apply with your own learners
– Be exposed to simple tools to facilitate co-creation
