The current dominant models of school are ill-fit to the current global challenges in the post-pandemic world. Models that prioritize deeper learning and equity of opportunity have emerged and matured into viable structural alternatives that can deploy and scale to schools globally. The narratives on this global shift of schooling are changing from questions of “why” and “if” toward questions of “how” and “when.” Based on their research and experiences, the presenters will make a case for changing structures that allow near-term progress on these deeper learning models to emerge while highlighting the common component elements of these changing structures. The session will focus explicitly on the student experience of school and the changes that occur in deeper learning classrooms.
