Language Learning and Teaching: Every Child a Storyteller

This session streamed online on 7 February 2023

Developing an understanding of stories and how they are constructed can be challenging for young children. Stories are so important as they have the potential to develop language, questioning skills, and early comprehension. In my presentation, I will walk through what I have put in place to develop children from followers of stories to creators of stories. I will outline my focus on repetitive text and drama, to developing story plans and helicopter stories. This session will offer real, practical advice, that can be implemented immediately to ensure fun, imaginative, and engaging ways of teaching stories and story creation to young children.
