Did you know that the game industry is bigger than the movie and television industries combined? Creative and interactive storytelling mediums will become the predominant form of modern entertainment. Good thing games are also the most powerful form of learning, impact messaging, awareness, and mobilization!
In this session, Press Start Academy, a Hong Kong-based startup specializing in game-based learning design, will be sharing the power of games and interactive media in learning important and strategic topics such as systems thinking, design thinking, and social impact, with design principles and concepts from the world of games, as well as examples of games you can use in your classroom to engage your students, leveraging the expertise and industry exposure of sister brand, edutainment studio Press Start Studios.
You can also learn about ways to participate in the global games for impact movement, by connecting with this burgeoning ecosystem. With the partnership of global organizations such as Games for Change and UN LIVE, and the support of game studios and impact partners across the region, Press Start’s signature game design curriculum puts students in the driving seat – instead of playing educational games, they are the ones designing them, applying their knowledge and passion to educate, inspire, and empower their peers on important global issues aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
