Building a Seamless Elementary STEM Program to Propel Students into Advanced STEM Learning

Learning Spaces Education Technology Innovation in Education
March 2024 - 21CLHK

In the rapidly advancing world of STEM, laying a robust foundation from the earliest years is crucial. This session delves into the development of an Elementary School (ES) STEM program that nurtures growth from Pre-K to Grade 5 and seamlessly transitions students into Middle and High School STEM courses. Attendees will be introduced to an innovative badging system for tracking student skills, tailored grade-level activities that move beyond craft-making to meaningful STEM learning, and a three-layer design cycle that supports students throughout their academic journey. This program is currently in its piloting phases, and while it aims to redefine how we approach ES STEM, it also seeks to gather fresh insights and ideas from participants. Join us in this collaborative endeavor to shape the future of STEM education.
