In this interactive one day workshop Andy will explore with participants the things school leaders need to know to transpose a particular innovative education design from one institution to another.
Based on current research from Andy’s forthcoming book, which will be published in the next 6 months, participants will be led through case studies of schools that have implemented scalable and replicable innovative programs, as well as have the opportunity to explore the hopes they have for their own institution.
This workshop will explore the “Four B’s” which is one way of looking at what makes particular innovative designs scalable and transferable:

  • Before – how many years was the Principal there
  • Betwixt – what are things happening outside the school – culture?
  • Beyond – how is the school connected to other schools – what ideas is it connected to
  • Beside – what does the “system” do to network with the the school

In addition the “Ten Tenets” of “collaborative professionalism” of innovative schools will be explored.
