As department Head/Science, I lead the department in designing STEM-related performance tasks that are part of students’ weighted assessments. These tasks are supported by contextualised rubrics that are aligned with MOE’s 21CC Learning Goals, and the Primary Science Teaching and Learning Syllabus. I lead Science teachers to curate rubrics that highlight task-specific 21CC skills, ensuring that assessment not only measures content mastery but also captures students’ competencies in areas such as inventive and adaptive thinking. Through this approach, the Science department remains committed to providing authentic, experiential learning opportunities that nurture the holistic development of 21st Century Competencies in our students.
