Presenters
School libraries are changing. They are no longer simply places to store books, but flexible learning environments that need to support reading, collaboration, teaching, events and changing student needs.
This practical webinar will explore current trends in sustainable library design and show how thoughtful planning, shelving and furniture choices can help schools make better use of their existing library spaces.
Drawing on experience from hundreds of library refurbishment projects, Dean will share practical examples of what works, common design mistakes that can limit a library’s potential, and simple ways to create a more engaging, flexible and cost-effective space.
The session will also explore opportunities to increase book circulation, improve the usability of the library, create spaces that can support additional activities or potential income generation, and make sustainable furniture and shelving decisions that provide long-term value.
Importantly, attendees will also learn how to build a case for a library refurbishment or improvement project, including practical advice on approaching school leadership and seeking funding.
