The traditional role of library shelving and furniture has changed. Gone are the long, tall rows of shelving displaying book spines, inflexible study spaces in quiet and perhaps sterile environments. Contemporary library spaces are a community hub, serving a range of activities, technology and resources.
Raeco has invested time and money to innovate library shelving so that it is agile, inviting and includes multiple opportunities to include “face out” book display. Effective merchandising is critical to ensure the success of implementing such a program vastly increases circulation stats and better engages the user. Today’s lower profile shelving units permit “line of site” across the entire library space, making each library open and easy to access. There are a range of library specific products that compliment Raeco shelving. These include library specific display shelves, signage, display acrylics, bay end panels and more. These products have all undergone design updates and are featured as part of Raeco’s brand new Library Shelving & Display Systems catalogue.
When Raeco invited Library Consultant Kevin Hennah to consult on our new 2021 catalogue, he also challenged us to deliver entirely new shelving styles and finishes. Fusing Kevin’s ideas with Raeco’s reliable quality, we are excited to present our new Designer Series. Featuring Moroccan inspired bay end panels, charming antique finish, custom made acrylic shelves and confident use of colour, we envisage these as visually stunning hero stands in prominent locations.
