The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted education systems worldwide, exposing and deepening long-standing inequities in access, achievement, and learning environments. This study presents a longitudinal analysis of student performance, examining who is catching up, who remains behind, and how these patterns can inform strategies for learning recovery and system redesign.

Findings show that recovery has been uneven, widening disparities across demographic and socioeconomic lines. For educators and system leaders, these results highlight the need for learner-centered, adaptive approaches that foster engagement and resilience. Learning recovery should not simply restore past performance levels but serve as a catalyst for building a more inclusive, flexible, and innovation-driven education system.
