March 2026 - 21CLHK
In a world captivated by novelty, Dr Helen Wright will argue in this keynote speech that the deepest solutions to educating for complexity may lie not ahead, but behind us. She will explore how early 20th-century educational pioneers reimagined learning as human, relational and purposeful. Drawing on examples from schools and educational movements around the world, including in Hong Kong, she will highlight how legacy ideas of self-knowledge, autonomy with structure, and moral responsibility remain the foundation for innovation today – and are more important than ever. Her call to action is that this is possible for every school armed with practical courage.
