Literary Journeys Not Reading Lists!

March 2026 - 21CLHK

Do parents frequently ask you for “one size fits all” reading lists for their kids for the summer/holidays? Do you worry that students may be required by their parents to read prescribed titles that don’t interest them?

In this workshop, I will share my open-ended reading “Literary Journey” that can be customized for your students. Rather than a list of titles to read, students will choose books based on a list of engaging categories and genres (ie. books that are movies, books that take place in Asia, books with a number in the title, and historical fiction etc.).

I’ll quickly show you my process and share my Canva template, then you will have time to start creating a version that you can use with your students. While this will work best if you have Canva, I will also have a simplified Google docs version to share.
