Do parents frequently ask you for reading lists for their kids for the summer/holidays? Do you worry that students may be required by their parents to read titles that don’t interest them?
In this workshop, I will share my open-ended reading “Literary Journey” that can be customized for your students. Rather than a list of titles to read, students will choose books based on a list of engaging categories and genres (ie “books that are movies,” “books that take place in Asia,” “books with a number in the title,” and “historical fiction”, etc.). I’ll share templates of helpful posters with sample titles and tips on how to search titles from your own collections. Transform boring summer reading lists into fun, engaging literary journeys!
Not sure if 45 minutes is too long, but 20 minutes feels too short. Is there a 30-minute option?
