tl;dr – This workshop is a quick, hands-on introduction to LEGO Serious Play, a method that’s excellent at wrangling complexity, unearthing overlooked ideas, hearing everyone’s voice, and developing flexible, creative thinking.
You know what they say about assumptions.
If we’re going to innovate education for a complex world, we should first ask a lot of questions about what that complex world looks like, and how it got that way. In this session we’re going to explore some of the ideas we take for granted, and surface some perspectives on them that don’t normally see daylight (which means they’ve been invisible to AI training data).
This workshop serves as a fast-paced, hands-on introduction to the LEGO Serious Play Method, in all its playful, wildly creative and deeply insightful glory. It’s great at helping you capture the full depth of a group’s expertise, to elicit some deep thinking, and to build incredibly strong shared understanding, especially in the face of questions that don’t have straight answers.
This workshop is ideal for people who love wrangling big ideas, and for anyone who’s ever watched a group of four year olds and thought “maybe they’re onto something.”
You’ll walk away from this session with two things.
First, you’ll have had a chance to explore some big picture ideas about education in the context of our world today with your peers and colleagues, using the LEGO Serious Play Method.
Second (and most importantly), you’ll take away some insights on how you might activate and make the most of all of the creative potential in your school through authentic, courageous communication in the face of big ideas.
(You’ll also have a lot of fun.)
