Gaming has become the world’s most influential interactive medium, reaching 3.2 billion players and surpassing the combined audiences of film, television, and music.
This power makes games and immersive media an unmatched tool for real-world change. From tackling climate anxiety to supporting mental health and teaching civic engagement to foster empathy, games are addressing the world’s most pressing challenges.
For over 20 years, Games for Change has championed creators, developers, educators, and organizations using games and immersive media for good. The G4C movement has now landed in Hong Kong, with Asia’s first chapter helmed by Press Start Academy, who are bringing their Game Jam programs and initiatives to schools around the region.
In this session, you will:
– Design your own serious game concept through a quickfire teaser activity
– Explore powerful examples of how games and immersive media are creating real impact
– Discover how you and your school can be part of the growing Games for Change movement
– Learn how your students can gain exposure and experience on the regional and world stage
