AI-Enhanced Processes 1: Introduction

Education Technology
March 2026 - 21CLHK

AI-Enhanced Processes reimagines how teachers can help students think with AI rather than let it think for them. Drawing on frameworks like Harvard Project Zero’s Making Thinking Visible and Visible Learning, it defines clear processes that reveal who is doing the thinking, what kind of thinking is expected, and how AI can enhance learning without replacing it. Through chapters on Creativity, Feedback, Information Literacy, and Writing, Alex McMillan introduces routines like Think–Generate–Edit, Generate–Verify–Reflect, and Acquire–Analyze–Reflect that make thinking visible and purposeful in AI-rich classrooms. Grounded in real classroom stories, the book argues that deep learning depends not on polished AI outputs but on transparent, effortful processes that strengthen reflection, agency, and human-AI collaboration. Alex has shared these ideas in keynotes and workshops across Asia, helping educators reimagine learning in the age of artificial intelligence.
