“Learning” is a word we use every day, but how many of us have a clear, theory-driven model of what good learning looks like? This session introduces ICHK’s “5+1 Model,” which combines some big educational ideas with a focus on the individual child. Over the past decade, this innovation has transformed the culture of our school, providing the foundation on which much emerging practice is built. Participants will explore the fundamental components of 5+1, and leave with an understanding of how they might apply the model at their own school, including tailoring it to their own needs.
