5 Types of Nonfiction

Innovation in Education
March 2026 - 21CLHK

You know about fiction and nonfiction, right?

But did you know there are ways to organize your nonfiction section to make it more accessible to readers with different reading preferences?

Nonfiction writer and expert Melissa Stewart has helped me reshape my nonfiction collection so students can find books that match the way they like to learn.

In this workshop, you’ll explore your library catalog and discover ways to sort your nonfiction collection in a more child-friendly way. Together, we’ll deepen our understanding of the five types of nonfiction and build a list of resources you may already have in your library.
