The Science of Fun A Full-Day Funshop on Play-Powered Classrooms and Staffrooms

What if the most powerful tool for building belonging, wellbeing and deep learning in your school was also the most joyful?

The Science of Fun is a full-day, hands-on Funshop part playground, part research lab exploring the serious craft of play. You won’t sit through slides. You’ll play your way through a toolkit of games, challenges and playful protocols you can use with students and colleagues the very next week, while unpacking the evidence behind them: how play builds social-emotional skills, psychological safety, connection and creative risk-taking, from early years classrooms to secondary staffrooms. Teachers will leave with practical, Monday-ready strategies for more engaged and connected learners. Leaders will discover how playful practice can transform meetings, PD and whole-school culture. Everyone will leave with a personal play playbook and a renewed sense of why joy belongs at the centre of school life.

Who it’s for:

Classroom teachers (all year levels and subjects), heads of year and department, wellbeing leads, instructional coaches, and school leaders building cultures of belonging and whole-school wellness. No prior play experience required, just a willingness to join in.
